Lancôme is a brand that is generally new to me. I’m a big fan of the Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover, but I honestly had not tried much else from the brand until recently. Over the years, I’ve gotten a few mascara samples and I vaguely remember testing Teint Idole foundation (maybe), but other than that, I went in blind to testing these Lancôme products. Today, I’m going to be testing Lancome products including their new Matte Shaker liquid lipstick, Teint Idole Ultra Wear Corrector, Énergie De Vie Liquid Care Moisturizer and… Monsieur Big Mascara.
If you live under a rock, Lancôme has been around for over 80 years. Lancôme’s mission is: to provide women with superior products and services that fulfill their quest and enthusiasm for beauty. You can find their products available in 160 countries. Globally, their most popular and successful products include the Definicils mascara(s), Trésor perfume, and the Genefique skin care line. The brand also prides themselves on ensuring women come to Lancôme to look more beautiful and leave feeling happier. Love that.
If you asked me what Lancôme’s most popular products are, I’d say the Teint Idole Foundation, Bi-Facil Makeup Remover, and their Definicils Lengthening and Defining Mascara. So, I was excited to try a few totally new-to-me items! *Side note, at the time of this post and through this Sun. 8/27 they’re holding a 20% off Friends and Family Sale:
Lancôme sent me a complimentary gift box full of these products to test and share my thoughts, so that’s exactly what we’re doing…
I’ve talked about my love for the Bi-Facil eye makeup remover for years and I got a mini in the gift box. It’s a dual-phase formula that’s excellent at removing stubborn waterproof mascara without any irritation. It’s pricey, but my eyes never get swollen or red (which happens with a LOT of other makeup removers). This is a product I’m never without.
V. excited about this new Teint Idole Ultra Wear corrector! Those thinking, “What on earth is a corrector and where do you put that?” A corrector is a product that counteracts discoloration (for peach, it’s perfect to correct dark blue/purple undereye). You apply corrector before concealer and only need a very tiny amount.
A couple of weeks ago, I was debating repurchasing one of my favorite Bobbi Brown correctors because I am getting a lot less sleep lately and concealer alone wasn’t cutting it. Then Teint Idole Corrector came to me and I am obsessed. The product has a thicker, creamy consistency with full coverage. It’s nondrying (almost hydrating) and pairs well with all of my concealers. I think this is a great value in comparison to competitors and is a top favorite out of these products mentioned in this post.

This one is unique. It is liquidy… not 100% water but thinner than a serum. If you understand K Beauty, the texture is similar to an essence. Énergie De Vie Liquid Care is a soothing antioxidant-rich moisturizer that can be used as a standalone moisturizer (if you’re very oily) or a layering moisturizing serum for normal/dry. It does have a fragrance to it, but I am happy to report it did not break me out. Personally, I use this as a serum before my evening moisturizer.
I think this product is best suited for those in their 20s and 30s looking for an extra boost of hydration in their normal moisturizer and/or those looking to add in an antioxidant (anti-aging) serum to their routine.
I think everyone’s seen the progression of these trendy lip products in Lancôme’s line: we had Juicy Tubes (lip gloss), Juicy Shakers (glossy lip color), and now Matte Shakers (soft, matte liquid lipsticks). This formula is very nice. It’s water light, weightless on the lips with no drying feeling at all. The sponge applicator is so soft and fun to apply and the color certainly comes off nicely pigmented. These would be great on-the-go or purse lip colors that you can apply quickly and are conveniently compact.

The moment you’ve all been waiting for… what do I think of the Monsieur Big Mascara? I’m a fan. This is the first Lancôme mascara I’m glad I have. I never cared for their other formulas because they had a rose fragrance to them and it kind of weirded me out. Plus, I felt like they never were as black as they could be. Then Monsieur Big comes out and blows my mind. Way to step it up, Lancôme!
This formula advertises 12x more volume than lashes on their own, no flaking/smudging and up to 24-hour wear in an ultra black formula. If I had to say what my favorite, must-try mascaras were, I’d include this one up there with Maybelline Lash Sensational and my Chanel Le Volume de Chanel. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
