POPSUGAR sent me this Must Have Box to try for complimentary testing purposes. Full disclaimer details here. #MustHaveBox
Sorry this review is coming a bit late for the October 2016 PopSugar Must Have Box, but I wanted to make sure you all got to see how great this box was – and how good of a value. I still have a discount code that never expires if you want to try this subscription box, too. So if you are looking for a unique holiday gift for a family member or friend, this subscription is an awesome idea! Let me share why this box has been one of the best yet…
The POPSUGAR Must Have Box for October focused around “warm, cozy, ‘inspiration.'” Maybe not two ideas you typically combine, but this box delivered. With more items than received in previous boxes and incredible exclusive coupons, I was in LOVE with this box.
I love Henri Bendel. I don’t think the brand gets enough attention for their bags, jewelry, and accessories. When I saw that I got a Henri Bendel umbrella, I was very excited. First of all, I use umbrellas constantly because I have two dogs and when it rains, we’re constantly going potty for some reason. Plus, you can never have too many travel umbrellas. I keep one in each car and one in my house… plus one for my suitcase. This one is super-sturdy and in a classic print. Retails for $58 and the box included a 20% off your purchase at Henri Bendel through 12/31 (just in time for the holidays – thank you, PopSugar)!
If you’ve never tried a shower oil/bubble bath product, let me tell you about its delightfulness. It foams like a body wash, with the moisturizing abilities of a body butter, yet rinses clean. This one by Lalicious also smells exactly like Warm Vanilla Sugar from Bath and Body Works – but better! I’ve been loving using this as a shaving product. A little goes a long way. This product retails for $28 (sold at ULTA!) and also included a 20% off code your purchase on Lalicious.com through 12/31!
This hot cocoa powder was a bit different – it was *dark* chocolate. I say “was” because I drank it all already (oops). It was delish with hot water or hot almond milk and would have been the cutest gift when combined with the mug (below). I got about 3-4 uses out of the package and it retails for $4.99 on mycupofcake.com.
I freakin love this mug. First of all, I love mugs. Call me weird, but I love a good mug with my coffee or tea in the morning and this mug is simple yet the shape is quite ergonomic, lol. Totally Instagram-worthy. It retails for $16 on morningculture.co and I’m definitely going to see what items this website sells.
The Makeup Eraser is a super-soft cloth (sort of feels like those fleece blankets you keep on your sofa as a throw) that can apparently remove your entire face of makeup with just water – even waterproof mascara. Good through 1,000 uses, this mini size costs $12 on makeuperaser.com. I had been very curious about this for years, so I was psyched to get a mini of this product. However… it was a dud for me. It didn’t really do a great job at removing all of my makeup, and it was really hard to rinse off in the sink. I felt gross leaving dead skin cells and visible bits of makeup on a cloth that I was expected to use again the next day. Maybe it’s because I wear more full-coverage foundation on a daily basis than many, but I just don’t like this technique better than my standard makeup removing oil, cleansing balm or just a good makeup wipe that you can throw away afterward… 🙁
An extra for this box, this is an inspirational memoir written by the founder of POPSUGAR, Lisa Sugar. I have had this on my bedside to read because I love stories about innovative women who share their personal stories and advice on success. Retails for $25 on poweryourhappy.com
Another extra for this box, the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen is a felt-tip ‘marker’ that is said to last up to 16 hours. There’s three of these liquid eyeliner pens from Revlon – a classic pointed tip, a triple-edge to make more graphic lines, and this ball-point tip that I got. The ball point is said to help you make dots along your lash line and then connect the dots to make a straight line. Gimmicky? Maybe. But the formula is great and it lasts well, is black and not shiny. I didn’t love the ball-point tip, but would totally try the classic version if you’re on the market for an affordable, liquid liner. Retails for $8.99 at most drugstores, Target, Walmart, etc.
Total subscription cost: $39.95
