I’ve never been a lipstick kind of girl. I find it extremely high maintenance, but I can’t deny that a swipe of the right shade can truly do wonders to brighten and highlight the complexion.
Recently, I picked up two nude lipsticks for fall that I know I’ll be using year-round, but particularly during the autumn. I also love that one can be found at the drugstore while the other costs more than a daily pumpkin spice latte for a week. #DontJudge
Let’s get the pricey stuff out of the way and discuss the gorgeous NARS Audacious lipsticks. These have been super hyped up in the beauty world for the past year due to their intense, creamy pigmentation and amusing packaging (the cap of the tube is magnetic and will align with the embossed NARS logo before sealing shut). After days of online research, I decided to pick up the shade, “Barbara,” which is described as a ‘tan rose,’ which defines the shade perfectly. It’s completely unscented and unflavored (thank goodness), has a creamy texture and a satin finish. It has average wear time (about 2-4 hours) before reapplication is needed. It’s a perfect every day lip color for my medium-olive skin tone that provides opaque coverage in one swipe.
Pick it up here or at your local Sephora.
Can anyone else not stop staring at Jennifer Lopez’ makeup whenever she’s walking a red carpet?! Yes? No? I would have never looked twice at L’Oreal Infallible 2-Step Lip Color in “Neverending Nutmeg” if it wasn’t that VOGUE magazine stated that the golden goddess herself rocks this shade at several red carpet events due to its longevity.
This is one of those ‘apply one layer of cement, let it dry then top with a balm,’ sort of lip colors. I find that it’s a lot less drying than some others I have tried in the past (CoverGirl and MAC). This shade is a beige-nude with mauve/taupe undertones. It lasts more than eight hours (even through eating) and doesn’t need any touch ups (as long as you reapply balm). The balm that’s included is quite glossy but doesn’t last very long, so you may want to top with your own gloss of choice (or your favorite clear lip balm). It’s a nude that doesn’t wash you out and looks great against medium/olive and warm-tan skin tones.
Pick up Neverending Nutmeg here, or wherever your favorite drugstore products are sold.
Those are my favorite nude lipsticks for fall that I’ll be wearing quite regularly. Which shade do you like better and what are some of your favorite fall lip colors?
