It’s my LAST favorites post of 2016 before I do my ‘best of 2016,’ so I figure I better make it a good one. This month’s stand out products are in a constant rotation in everything from makeup to skin and hair care in my routine. If you’re looking for a new all-in-one face wash or the best eye cream in the world, then keep on reading for my November 2016 beauty favorites…
I’ve raved about the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette for months now and for good reason. It’s UNIQUE. So many ‘neutral’ palettes on the market now, but this was the first to hit shelves with a different twist on a natural eye. With more matte shades than shimmer (for once – in a palette), Modern Renaissance is one to certainly pick up this holiday season and will more than likely be in my Best of 2016 post coming soon. See 5 looks I created using the palette here.
When I tried a sample of this Pur~Lisse Cleansing Milk in an Allure Beauty Box, I was not expecting much. However; it was an unsung hero and one I am glad I got the full size of because it’s extremely soap and sulfate free, amazing at removing makeup and non-drying. The formula reminds me of the delicate, non-foaming cleansers like CeraVe or Cetaphil – with ACTUAL cleansing power. Plus, it has anti-aging ingredients to boot.
I picked up a $25 four-pack of the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks from the recent Sephora VIB Sale (full post here), and also used all four shades in this post, but my favorite shade has been Fig. The prettiest rose-pink, I find myself reaching for it constantly. The formula is a satin finish (not too shiny, yet not matte) and I find it lasts a VERY long time on my lips. I would totally buy the full size of this shade!
When I did my ‘How To Curl Long Hair With A Flat Iron’ post (here), I talked about loving this dry conditioner when I use dry shampoo. It’s something you don’t normally think about, but with cooler temperatures in the air, it’s the perfect something extra to keep your hair soft and smooth this season (without having to wash/dry it daily or use a heavier anti frizz serum).
This eye cream is an investment piece – I know. But this pot will last year at LEAST a year. I know you shouldn’t have eye creams for more than – what – six months? But who really does that? Sorry, not me. Story behind this eye cream: I first bought this eye cream in a state of desperation in 2011 when I was traveling for work every other week by plane and my skin was taking a beat down. I walked into Macy’s and asked what the thickest, most hydrating eye cream was and the sales lady showed me this miracle product. It’s so thick and moisturizing and instantly plumps up the skin around my eyes. It’s like a HUGE glass of water for your eyes if you suffer from bad allergies or dry eyes and stays put all night. It’s the MAMA of all hydrating eye creams and won’t do you wrong, I swear.
Anyways, I dabbled around in other eye creams over the years but recently noticed a difference in my eye area – especially because I’m upp’ing my Retin A usage from three nights/week to about five/week. I had to call in the big guns and now I remember why this was such a God send. I don’t think I can ever be without this again.
*SALE ALERT: If you purchase this eye cream from Macy’s through 12/7/16, you get $10 off every $50 spent on beauty + fragrance!
*If you don’t think you need AS MUCH hydration as this miracle in a jar, but still want something better than what you may be using now, I recommend the $29 Kiehl’s Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment as an alternative.
So that’s everything. I hope your holiday shopping is going well, and if you have been struggling with a couple of ideas for a loved one or yourself… I suggest the eye cream and/or the Modern Renaissance palette be at the top of your list!
