If you’ve tried Bite Beauty lip products, you know they’re perfection – creamy, full-color, food-grade ingredients that last incredibly well on the lips. After years of perfecting lipsticks, they’ve finally added a lip pencil range and the beauty world is a-buzz about them. I was lucky to get a couple to test for free from Influenster, so I wanted to share my unbiased opinion on if the new Bite Beauty Lip Pencils are worth the hype I’m seeing everywhere… and if you would like them!
Influenster is a free-to-join, open to anyone (not just bloggers) marketing website. They partner with thousands of brands to collect honest reviews for products new to the market in all different industries – beauty, food, parenting, etc. I’ve been a member for years and because I have such a fondness for beauty, I’ve received a few complimentary boxes from brands like YSL, Marc Jacobs, Kat Von D and now Bite Beauty. YAY!
The Bite Beauty Lip Pencils ($18/ea) are formulated to be ultra creamy, super weightless and provide opaque coverage. They were specifically created using Cedar Wood to pay homage to the original format of makeup pencils, but my favorite feature of the line is that it’s 22 NEUTRAL, LIP-TONE INSPIRED SHADES. There’s literally a shade for everyone.
Because of the creamy formula infused with Shea Butter, the lip pencils can even be worn on their own since they’re nondrying and air-light.
I think Bite Beauty’s Lip Pencil shade selection is very impressive. Ranging from very nude to deep and vampy, you really cannot ask for better lip color shades. I can’t even think of a line that has a lip pencil range this extensive!
Personally, I received the nude/peach shade #020 and the dark brown #044 to pair with Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche lipsticks Honeycomb and Whiskey, respectively.
I love that Bite Beauty has recommended pencils to match with their Amuse Bouche lipsticks on their website – it makes it so easy to find the one you’ll love. Sephora also shows how the shades swatch on light, medium and deep skin tones. This is VERY helpful!
The formula of the Bite Beauty Lip Pencils are accurately described – creamy, weightless and opaque. The downside is that I feel the formula is slightly TOO creamy. I needed to sharpen the pencil after 1-2 uses because it wears down quickly (I normally can use a lip pencil 4-5 times before sharpening). On the flip side, it DOES last long. The Amuse Bouche lipsticks are very long-lasting in and of themselves (I’d say about 4-6 hours) and when using the Lip Pencils, extended to about 6-8 hours.
I loved how weightless they felt on the lips – none of that weird, thick-feeling from other lip pencils I’ve used and they blend like a dream, so if you wanted to wear these on their own for a lip color, you’re going to love them. Just be warned, they may run out quickly.
I felt that Honeycomb and Lip Pencil shade #020 were a bit too nude for me (I’m approx. MAC NC35), even though friends told me it looked nice, and Whiskey with Lip Pencil shade #044 was REALLY dark for me. I want to stop by my local Sephora and look at shade #024 – a slightly darker, peachy rose shade. I think that one would be totally up my alley.
Pick up the Bite Beauty Lip Pencils at your local Sephora or Sephora online and add this eco biodegradable sharpener ($6) while you’re at it – it maintains the sharpness and shape of the pencil better than my NARS or MAC pencil sharpeners.
Have you tried the Bite Beauty Lip Pencils yet? What do you think? Let me know in the comments and share if you found this helpful! Thank you so much 🙂
