I really don’t understand how it’s already February. Whattt. I basically feel like we just went from Oct. 31-Feb. 1 in three days. But with February comes time for January beauty favorites! I was heavily focused on face makeup this month along with a mighty appearance by a new little budget eyeliner from the drugstore. Continue reading to find out what made my must-haves this month and why…
(clockwise from top: Kat Von D Shade/Light Contour Kit, IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye, MAC Soft and Gentle, Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal, Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base)
Kat Von D Shade/Light Contour Kit, $46 // This has not left my bag since its initial purchase in November from the Sephora VIB sale. I used it in my super easy 2-minute contour routine (here) and also on my mom in her mommy makeover (here). I’m seriously in love with these blendable powders and how flawless they make my skin look. I haven’t touched my bronzers (even my beloved TooFaced Chocolate Soleil) in going-on three months. Pick it up from Sephora here.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye, $24 // An absolute amazing under eye concealer for those with some serious dark circles (like me). I was reminded of its awesomeness when I posted my “The Right Way To Cover Dark Circles” post (here), and whipped this bad boy out the next day. It’s so creamy, hydrating and brightening. It definitely needs a setting powder with it, but once you set it, you look super well-rested all day long! Get it at Ulta or online from QVC here.
MAC Soft and Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish Highlighter, $32 // A cult favorite for MAC lovers worldwide, I only recently started enjoying this particular light peachy-gold highlighter. I’ve owned it for a couple of years but always found it super hard (like the actual powder in the compact). It was strange because in the store, when swatched, it was stunning, but mine was just sort of hard. Anyway… after months of really going at it with all sorts of brushes, it finally softened up and now is a great everyday highlighter. I’d say its a step above my Hourglass Luminous Light (great for beginners), but a step below the Becca or theBalm highlighters. Pick it up at your local MAC store or from Nordstrom (free shipping/free returns) here.
Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner, $6.49-8.89 // I picked this up after my blogging buddy, Chelsea from Life with Rosie, raved about it in her long-lasting makeup tutorial here. I normally don’t use kohl eyeliner because I just think: smudgy hot mess, but Chelsie assured me it’s pretty budge-proof once it sets. It’s been really good to practice tight-lining with (lining that upper waterline) and is the BLACKEST black from the drugstore I’ve ever tried. Get it at Target here.
Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base Mineral Powder Foundation, $52 // This is the only full-coverage mineral foundation I’ve ever tried that doesn’t look chalky and works well on its own or as a setting powder over liquid foundation if you need a little extra coverage. I use shade Golden Glow currently, but in the summer, upgrade to Riviera. The shade selection is incredible, has great SPF and is even waterproof up to 40 minutes! A multiple-times-repurchased product for a reason. Oh! The compact is initially $52, but then you just buy the powder refill for $42. Pick it up online here.

Happy February,
