The Ultimate No Makeup-Makeup | Glossier Review

Everyone does it, it’s just that nobody talks about it. The no-makeup makeup look – perfected by models and celebrities and barely seen to the naked human eye. “Naturally beautiful,” people say. I call BS. If you want that natural, healthy look but need a little bit of help, let me introduce you to Glossier.

Glossier Review Brighterdarling.com Houston Beauty Blogger

I’ve been testing out the new Glossier brand for a few months in order to give you a thorough review. Let’s start by saying I love makeup. I love the flawless look and I appreciate others’ efforts in looking their best. I’m a makeup junkie. So it may seem a bit ironic that I equally appreciate the get-up-and-go abilities of certain makeup products. Glossier’s Perfecting Skin Tint is exactly that – an extremely sheer wash of pigment that lightly evens out the skin while giving a healthy glow and slightly blurring the look of pores/minor imperfections.

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint is more sheer than the sheerest tinted moisturizer you own, but yet it has some sort of magic capabilities that make your skin appear its healthiest. I personally suffer with post-acne marks and hyperpigmentation and find that this product gives a beautiful, natural finish on even *my* skin. Do not expect it to cover blemishes or under eye circles – you can always dab a bit of concealer on those big offenders – but expect a pretty, healthy look. As quoted from Glossier.com,

What won’t it do? Hide your freckles, spackle your pores, or erase any other evidence that you are, in fact, a real human being.

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint Medium Swatch

The consistency is very liquidy – watery, even. It has a nice slip to it which helps it blend over the skin and it lasts surprisingly well on my oily skin. I do set it down with a powder, but it doesn’t break down patchy or just disappear later in the day. Perfecting Skin Tint is your lazy Sunday BFF.

Accompanying my Perfecting Skin Tint purchase was their Balm Dotcom. This is a super thick salve that you can use on chapped lips, cuticles, dry patches, brows, even on lids or cheekbones for a little shine. It’s very much like Aquaphor, but with a few more beneficial skin ingredients and a much thicker consistency – less greasy, more balmy. I love applying this at night before bed on my lips and even as an eye cream, or on those lazy Sundays.

How cute is this packaging that the products arrived in?!

Perfecting Skin Tint comes in five super thin, blendable shades that will suit any skin tone. I use shade Medium now, but could wear Dark in the summer. Not sure what shade you would need? They have a (Steffanie-tested-and-approved) shade finder tool on their site which allows you to upload a picture of yourself and it magically tells you what color to pick. How fun!

I’m definitely interested in picking up their soothing face mist made with rose and aloe and priming moisturizer next to see if they’re just as good as these two gems.

***FYI: TODAY (Black Friday) THROUGH 12/1 – THE ENTIRE SITE IS 25% OFF + FREE SHIPPING***
