Like my face makeup, expect my clothing and nails to follow suit in regards to color – I stick with my neutrals. If you ask my little sister, she says that I basically am ‘sand-colored-everything.’ So it should come as no surprise that my nails are often painted in shades of greigey light neutrals. Sometimes I pop some red, pink, blue or black to the mix and if I’m feeling really feisty, I’ll add a glitter top coat in a shade of silver or rose gold, but for the most part, I stick to simple. Here’s my five favorite winter neutral nail polishes I’ve been rocking this season with swatches on my nails. You may want to check them out as (almost) all of them are $10 or under…
(from L to R: Formula X for Sephora “Thrilling,” OPI “Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around,” Essie “Lady Like,” Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquer “Divinity,” CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant “220“)
The lightest of the bunch, this shade is described as a ‘cloud grey,’ which is pretty accurate. It’s an opaque, light cool grey.
The next shade darker in the bunch, this shade is a creamy light beige mauve.
This Essie shade is a medium, soft opaque mauve.
Apparently, it seems this shade may have been discontinued, but the formula is still awesome. This is a light golden tan with subtle rose gold shimmer in a satin finish. I found a close dupe in color (not sure of formula) in CND Vinylux Grand Gala Weekly Polish.
This shade is described as a ‘toasted almond.’ It’s much darker than the rest, but the formula of these CoverGirl polishes is super under rated. Great coverage in one coat and wears a week with no chips (with a top coat). I’d say it’s more of a medium-dark cool bark brown.

Do you have any favorite/go-to neutral polishes that would be a great addition to my collection – let me know in the comments. I definitely rely on a different set of neutrals for the spring/summer and would love to share those, as well, if interested! Comment below and let me know.
Happy polishing,
