Favorite Oliveda Skincare for Acne Prone Skin

I am now about three months into testing out my Oliveda (Olive Tree People) skincare for my sensitive, acne prone skin and I feel like it’d be helpful to share some of what I’ve learned has worked for me if you are also hearing about this brand and want to know my favorite Oliveda skincare for acne prone skin. I consider myself a skincare sleuth and an ingredient analyzer, so I think this list will help you figure out where to start if you’ve wanted to try Oliveda and also have acne prone skin.

ICYMI, I partnered with a new waterless, clean beauty brand from Europe that is new to the States a few months ago! What does waterless mean? Well, for Olive Tree People (Oliveda is one branch of the brand), it means they replace the traditional water/aqua in the products with olive leaf elixir or pure arbequina leaf oil derived from olives. Within the leaves is a potent polyphenol packed with antioxidant protection – hydroxytyrosol. It’s been proven (go Google Hydroxytyrosol and Skin Benefits) to help reduce inflammation and be extremely anti aging for the skin. Read more on my blog here.

My favorite thing about Olive Tree People skincare is there is truly something for everyone here. Because this is a corrective line that originated for spa use, there are multiple products that do similar things but for different skin types. You just have to figure out which product will be best for you.

I definitely lean in on the 365 day return policy here because I promise you – you’ll find your routine! Just take it slow, introduce things one at a time and work with a waterless brand ambassador because we help dozens of people daily find the product line up that’s best for them based on experience.

Acne is a tricky beast especially once you are over the age of like, 25.

It gets even tricker if you’re like me and over the age of 35.

Acne is not just for those with ultra oily skin. Acne can affect all different skin types and ages and I’ll tell you a little secret:

A big trigger for acne is inflammation in the body.

This may be chronic stress, malnourishment (or poor diet, too much sugar, not enough water), lack of sleep/high cortisol, stressed out adrenals, overburdened liver, and more.

So… regardless of what skin type you have, you need to be supporting your immune system and reducing that inflammation from within.

@brighterdarlingWHY HYDROXYTYROSOL IS A MUST: Hydroxytyrosol, a potent antioxidant derived from the olive tree, offers a range of benefits for both health and beauty. In terms of health, its antioxidant properties play a crucial role in protecting cells from damage caused by free radicals, thereby potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders. Additionally, hydroxytyrosol’s anti-inflammatory effects can help in reducing inflammation throughout the body, which is linked to various health issues. Studies have indicated that hydroxytyrosol may have a positive impact on cardiovascular health by improving lipid profiles and promoting overall heart health. It may also support brain health by potentially protecting against cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases. When it comes to beauty benefits, hydroxytyrosol’s antioxidant properties are valuable for skin health. By combating oxidative stress, it helps in preventing premature aging signs such as wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots. Hydroxytyrosol may also aid in maintaining skin elasticity and hydration, contributing to a more youthful and radiant complexion. Furthermore, its anti-inflammatory properties can be beneficial for managing skin conditions like acne and eczema by reducing redness and irritation. The protective effects of hydroxytyrosol on skin cells can help in maintaining skin health and promoting a more vibrant appearance. This stuff is so powerfully protective of the body – just head to Google! Shoot me a DM or comment an 🫒 for the details on this combo… you will LOVE!♬ original sound – ꜰɪɪʀᴍᴇᴏʟᴅɪᴇꜱ✩

My second favorite part of Olive Tree People skincare is that this brand formulated the very first product to be an immune boosting/inflammation reducing tincture. How can we expect to truly heal ourselves if we are not addressing what is going on inside?!

Almost anyone can benefit from the I01 High ORAC + Camu Camu Tincture. Taken daily, this product supports detoxification of the liver, boosts the immune system and helps regenerate and strengthen all of the cells in your body.

From there, we split off… dry skin with acne or oily/combo skin with acne.

dry skin with acne

You are my people. Once upon a time, I was ultra oily with acne. But lucky me – now I’m dryer with acne.

I’d actually define myself as super dehydrated (from the inside out) but we’ll get to that in a minute.

Here are my favorite products for those of you with dry skin and acne after you’ve added the I01 to your daily routine. You don’t need to use all of these, but these are my go-to recommendations.

  • 009 Dope Your Glow Gel Cleanser (very gentle but effective; leaves your skin soft and clean)
  • F72 Corrective Cleansing Oil (best for double cleansing dry/acne prone skin if you wear makeup daily)
  • F10 Olive Core Face Peeling Scrub (the grown up St. Ives Apricot scrub that leaves you moisturized but smooooooth)
  • F81 AHA + HT Serum (this is non negotiable; a must for acne and anti aging)
  • F82 Green Retinol (another one that tackles acne and anti aging)
  • F74 Regeneration Intense Face Cream
  • 003 LA Dope Your Glow Face Cream
  • F84 Blemish Control Mask (can also be used as a nourishing spot treatment)
  • F77 Olive Matcha Mask (great when the skin is sensitized, irritated or inflamed)

I70 Beauty Molecule – if you are dry or dehydrated like me, pair this one with the I01 tincture as it is a hylauronic acid supplement. Created to boost the hydration of skin and joints from within, you’ll notice a refined, rosier complexion and softened fine lines with continued use.

Oliveda Skincare | Waterless Beauty | Olive Tree People Review

oily/combo skin with acne

This was me from the age of 12 until I got pregnant with my first baby at 33. It was a fun journey and trust me when I tell you I tried everything from the entire skincare shelves at CVS to Accutane at the dermatologist.

Here’s the rundown for the top oily/combo skin with acne Oliveda picks after you’ve added the I01 tincture to your routine. Again, you do not need all of these… these are simply the narrowed down favorites for this skin type.

  • F38 Purifying Gel Cleanser
  • F10 Olive Core Peel Scrub (the grown up St. Ives Apricot scrub that leaves you smooooooth)
  • F81 AHA + HT Serum (this is non negotiable; a must for acne and anti aging)
  • 002 Finer Pore Dope Elixir (a little bit of a botox in a bottle effect; refines pores)
  • F82 Green Retinol Elixir (another one that tackles acne and anti aging)
  • F85 Acne SOS Drops (a true concentrated spot treatment)
  • 003 Dope Your Glow Face Cream
  • F07 Anti Aging Cream
  • F84 Blemish Control Mask (can also be used as a nourishing spot treatment)
  • F76 Honey Enzyme Mask (gently exfoliating with papaya enzyme; honey is antimicrobial and soothing)

Lastly, if you’re a little overwhelmed, lean in on the already-discounted 20% off sets. The inflammatory acne set is a really good place to start for *most * acne skin types. I also really like the anti pigmentation set (also discounted).

Hope this list is helpful and if you have more specific questions, please shoot me a DM on IG @ brighterdarling or comment below and I’d be happy to help.

xx,

Steff
