I received this palette complimentary for review purposes from Influenster. #TheDressedEye #contest
We’re going to get right to the point real quick here: the Marc Jacobs Glambition palette is a MUST buy. I knew almost immediately when I used these on my eyes that this palette was going to be in my Best of 2017 and I hope you’ll agree with me once you see the looks I was able to create and once I share a little bit about why this (somewhat basic) palette needs to be *at least* swatched, if not absolutely purchased next time you’re wandering Sephora.
part of the new Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Collection
When I got this palette from Influenster, I admit I had a small snoozefest when I saw the basic, neutral shades in the Glambition palette ($49). But knowing what I know about how beautiful Marc Jacobs eyeshadows are from previous experience, I reserved my opinion until I created a couple of looks and then fell in love.
The Eye-Conic collection has six brand-new palettes each featuring seven shades in four different (new) finishes: velvet, satin, silk, lamé (in order of most matte to most metallic). The pigmentation is rich and the formula is long-wearing.
Glambition is the most neutral of the six palettes, featuring your basic highlight and transition shades, through deep brown and black for definition. It includes a perfect mix of warm and cool tones to take your look from day-to-night. The two quintessential lamé shades in gold and champagne pink will flatter all skin tones. I also think this palette is ideal for bridal looks/special occasions.
The palette came with a sample of the Coconut Eyeshadow Primer and as you can see from the photos, I ended up buying the full size because I found it to be an incredible primer – not just for the MJ palette, but all of the shadows I own. It’s clear, has a similar consistency to the NARS Smudgeproof (Holy Grail) primer, but I think this one enhances eyeshadow shades just a smidge better.

I’m quickly learning Marc Jacobs is a brand I am rarely disappointed by and should probably really take a deeper look at his entire makeup line. This Glambition palette is a dream. It’s the PERFECT neutral palette. I love that it has a satin highlight shade, a dark brown and a black, 2 transition shades both in warm and cool tones, plus two classic shimmery shades. It blends like a dream, never gets muddy and lasts on the lids both with and without primer (although with primer, it’s more vibrant and definitely longer lasting on oilier lids).
I haven’t stopped reaching for Glambition since I got it over a month ago. This is the neutral palette we’ve all been waiting for. All of the shades in this Glambition palette will get love. I clearly can’t stop gushing about this one. Get yourself to Sephora because it’s a must try (but you may be tempted to buy all six)!
