Unless you’re not a big blog follower, you probably know Nordstrom has been having their big half yearly 40% off sale going on (until Sun., June 4). If you’re a last minute shopper like I tend to be (I just keep thinking I REALLLYYY don’t need these things… until it’s 2am on a Thursday night and I hit “Place Order”), I rounded up a ton of items under $50 (several in the $25 range) that would be so cute for the summer and even through early fall. Here’s your last minute, under $50, shopping list for the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale!

Shopping the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale Tips

Ok, ok I have a confession. There is ONE item on this list above $50, but it IS under $100 and I just couldn’t leave it out. It’s the espadrilles. But everything else is fair game!

A lot of people get intimidated by Nordstrom because they associate Nordstrom = expensive. But let me tell you how *I* like to shop Nordstrom – particularly which tends to have a ton more brands NOT sold in stores for reasonable prices considering the quality.

  1. I shop the TREND page first. These items do tend to be more ‘younger’ styles, but the prices are more affordable yet the quality is exponentially better than that of Forever 21, etc.
  2. I sort by FEATURED next. This gives me an idea of what’s new/popular. Even if it’s expensive, if you click on the item, Nordstrom usually suggests similar items on the sidebar or below that may be more affordable, or on sale in a different color.
  3. I sort by price – low to high. Seems like a no-brainer, but you’d be shocked how many tops are in the $13-25 price range on! Equally, tons (and I mean TONS) of cute dresses under $50 – perfect for every day OR for a special event like a wedding.
  4. I make a huge order – and then return a lot. Nordstrom is amazing at customer service. Since a lot of their ‘trend’ brands are only sold online, I usually place an order for quite a bit on my Nordstrom card. Often ordering multiple sizes of the same thing (I’m notoriously between S and M). I get to try things on in the comfort of my home, mix and match with things I have already in my closet, etc. If I don’t see myself wearing it at least three different ways (or it simply doesn’t fit), it goes back. Nordstrom ALWAYS SHIPS FREE (no minimum) AND RETURNS ARE FREE. You can even bring the items right to a Nordstrom store and return in person for an instant refund.

Mules/slide sandals are huge this summer and I think it’s great. They’re comfortable! I also included a couple nude (because you can never have enough) sandal heels for a night out. Reminder: the espadrilles are NOT under $50 but they ARE just a smidge over $75!

I think lace is always a good idea and I love love love it in the summertime because it allows you to stay cool, while still maybe hiding areas that are bothersome (think: lace sleeves).

Apparently PINK is having a big moment this summer (but then again, when is it not). As you probably know if you follow my style posts, I love neutrals and light pinks. They break up basic black/white/grey yet are still so soft and can go with honestly anything.

Satin is an unlikely trend when you think of summer, but this dressier material is lightweight and adds a bit of mixed texture – think distressed denim shorts and a pretty satin tank top!

I’ll be sharing what I picked up from the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale very soon! HINT: I stocked up on a few summer tops, although the slide sandals I shared here are tempting me…

What did you get from the sale so far? Let me know!
