I truly was NOT going to write this post. Over the years, I’ve (as many other beauty bloggers) have gotten frustrated by Sephora’s lack of PERKS. Their sales aren’t that great. Their free samples are not that great. Their incentives for reward members’ are not that great. BUT… I did have a few friends in real life ask me if I was going to be doing a post on this sale. So… if a few friends are asking, I figured a few more may be wondering, too. So! Alas, here I am giving you my recommendations for shopping the April 2020 Sephora sale…
The biggest tip I can give you if you’re going to shop this sale is TRY to stick to Sephora exclusive brands and products.
That means brands and/or products that are ONLY sold at Sephora.
I say this because SO often, the brands sold at Sephora run their own sales the week before (or during) the Sephora spring sale and typically 20% off.
If you’re not a VIB Rouge, you’re not getting 20% off… so you really have to shop smart and consider where you’re going to find the best deal.
That means you may have to shop around with your favorite brands on their website and keep an eye on their sales (sign up for their emails… this often gives you 20% off + free shipping), follow them on social media for flash sales, etc. But you’ll save money that way.
However, there are still some brands/products in my shopping cart (or that I would recommend) that I’m going to share today.
Here are the April 2020 sale details, as well:

I got a chance to try this Vitamin C serum before anyone else, as Ole Henriksen sent it to me complimentary to test two weeks before launch. I did a before/after of my skin over a 7 day period, and I think I saw a difference (so did my Instagram followers)! That’s pretty impressive for a one-week timeframe.
This Tatcha primer would be new to me as I haven’t personally tried it yet, but I love Tatcha as a brand overall and I have heard literally nothing but positive feedback on their Silk Canvas primer balm. This Liquid Silk Canvas primer harnesses all the goodness of the balm, but in a lightweight, more liquid texture – better for those with more normal/oily skin.
This new cream bronzer from Tarte took me by surprise, as I had no idea it was even available! However, the rave reviews seem super promising and I have been dying for a good cream bronzer since the good old days of the Chanel cream bronzer that I refused to drop nearly $60 on.
I know this isn’t ‘clean,’ but I have repurchased this dry shampoo myself twice now! It’s SO powerful… so I recommend this more for those with thicker hair like myself. It does an amazing job at really keeping the hair less greasy for a couple days, rather than just maybe a day with regular dry shampoo. It has a very powerful fragrance, though (a big no-no in clean beauty… I know), but my husband says it smells really nice and I know not everyone cares about clean beauty yet. So I figured I’d share!
Another ‘not clean’ recommendation, but one I just really need to try to know what the hype is about. This under eye corrector isn’t a new product, and when it first came out, I remember it didn’t get great reviews because it can be greasy. But then lately, I’ve seen every influencer (well, mostly fashion influencers… I’m sure they got sent a free one) raving about this corrector. It’s constantly sold out, so you may have better luck and find a better deal on Becca’s website… but regardless, I’m all about hiding my horrible dark circles, so this may be for you, too!
Not ‘clean,’ either… but if you are like me and watch Alexandrea Garza on YouTube regularly (love her!), you know she has the best natural looking tan glow and she has been swearing by this Tan Luxe gradual tan for years. I need to try it for myself and see if it makes me look as beachy as she does… or if it’s just that I need to buy a second home in Florida like her lol.
CLEAN! YAY! Ok, I’m forever on the hunt for a cleaner alternative for my beloved Tarte Shape Tape (damn you, fragrance, for ruining that cleaner score)! This new concealer from KOSAS looks reallllly close. I’ve watched tons of video demos of this new concealer and people are singing its praises for it’s amazing coverage and lightweight texture. Stay tuned!
Another bronzer type formula… at the time I’m writing this… it’s already sold out on Sephora, BUT I’m hoping it restocks soon. This KOSAS bronzer is supposed to be a sheer wash of bronze goodness. I’m not so sure that’s my actual style of bronzer (I love a good bronze haha), but I like the idea of something soft, blendable and natural looking… so I really want to give this clean formula a try. Good bronzers that are clean are harder to come by.
Guys… I rave about this Hourglass powder nearly every single Sephora sale round up. I use this as a finishing powder at the very end of my makeup routine to blend everything together and make it look more flawless. This is probably going to be my fourth (maybe 5th?) time I repurchase this powder. You cannot go wrong with any of the Hourglass powders, though…
…As I was saying, you cannot go wrong with any of the Hourglass powders. I want to try this mini size of the shade Diffused Light because I’m looking for a new under eye setting concealer. I want something super finely milled (so it doesn’t enhance fine lines), with a hint of added coverage and brightening. This pale yellow powder may be exactly what I’m looking for, so I’ll keep you posted.
I want to do a little more on my blog or YouTube channel on Aether Beauty. I purchased a palette from them months ago I’ve been meaning to review more, and I figured if I picked up one of their highlighters with actual diamonds infused into the formula, I’d have a couple pieces to review/share with you all. Aether Beauty is clean, women-founded and owned and the creator actually used to work for Sephora before stepping out on her own to create a clean brand that performs like the other stuff you know and love… 🙂
Ok, I hope that gives you some inspo for shopping the sale! Remember, cross-check the brand’s websites you’re shopping to make sure you’re getting the best deal and search for coupon codes for free shipping promotions, etc.
What are you picking up from the sale this April? Let me know in the comments!
