Beauty addicts like myself are all too aware of the two occasions a year Sephora hosts storewide sales – November and April. In November, the makeup mecca hosts a VIB Rouge/VIB and Beauty Insider (BI) sale where VIB Rouge and VIB members have received 20% off and BIs get 15% off for about five days, historically. Let’s discuss my Sephora VIB Sale Recommendations November 2015…
There’s been no formal announcement of the VIB/BI official sale dates yet, but I’m guesstimating it will be Nov. 5-9, 2015 UPDATE: The official dates for VIB Rouges is 11/6-11/9 and VIBs are 11/13-11/16. Beauty Insiders should get 10% off. and wanted to share what I would suggest picking up when the dates are unveiled.
I have my eye on some new things that I’ll hopefully get my hands on and be able to test out before giving my final thoughts, but in looking through my past year of blog favorites and most-used products, this is the list I felt confident in sharing with you fine people…
(Clockwise from top L to R: Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation, Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Beauty Blender, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, Lancome Le Duo Contour/Highlight Stick, YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder – Luminous Light)
Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation, $40 // It’s hard NOT to like this foundation. It has great coverage, gives a natural finish with a beautiful non-greasy glow and photographs awesome. Holds up well in heat/humidity and won’t cling to dry patches. I used it in my fall bronze glow look here.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, $22.50-37 // This made an appearance in a monthly favorites here. Laura Mercier does powders very well, in my experience. This powder is incredible at setting foundation or concealer (which prevents major creasing) without oxidizing the shade. Grab the $22.50 trial size if you’re unsure – it also comes with a velour puff.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, $29 // If you’re feeling spendy and want a do-it-all long-wearing concealer, NARS makes an amazing one and has a pretty great shade selection if you struggle finding a good match at the drugstore. I love my drugstore concealers, but can’t deny this is one I’m sad is running low in my collection. I did a comparison of this concealer against a few more affordable brands here.
Beauty Blender, $20 // If you’re someone who insists any foundation looks “fake” on your skin, you need to try applying it with a dampened Beauty Blender – the original – not the ones from TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or even Real Techniques (I love that one, but in order to appreciate it, you need to try the original BB first). Wash it nightly when you wash your face and it will last you a very long time.
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, $30 // I went on a Tour de Bronzer this year, and came back to this all-time fave. It is the best matte bronzer that also contours without looking orange. Plus, it smells heavenly. It was featured in a favorites twice (!!!) – here and here.
Lancome Le Duo Contour/Highlight Stick, $36 // This was a recently reviewed item (here) that I strongly suggest checking out. It’s very unique in the shade options and caters to the more medium/olive skin tones that need something a bit extra and also, those on-the-go.
YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick, $36 // Another recent discovery and review (here), YSL Rouge Pur Couture are the creamiest and most hydrating (yet long-wearing) lipsticks I’ve ever tried. They also probably have the widest shade selection I’ve ever seen, to be honest. MAC may have a few more in their permanent collection, but they’re close. I recommend #09 or #06 for every day shades that will suit most skin tones. This is certainly a case of treat yo’ self.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder – Luminous Light, $45 // …Anddd another that graces the favorites category more than once (here and here), this is the prettiest powder I own. It’s so finely milled and gives a serious lit-from-within natural glow that works day or night. I said it once and I’ll say it again, it’s near impossible to overdo it with this powder. GREAT for highlighter beginners. Will last forever.
I hope my list helps narrow down how you’ll use your discount! Cross your fingers I am able to pick up everything on my wish list so I can share it with you soon.
