OMG! …Loving Lately / May 2019 Beauty Favorites

My Favorites posts majorly lacked in 2018… I literally don’t understand because they’re some of my _favorite_ posts to write. Quick and to the point. Anyway, lately I was looking around and really LOVING some products and realized it was time to write it down. Here we go with my May 2019 beauty favorites

May 2019 Beauty Favorites Brighter Darling | Rodan and Fields Lash Boost Lash Growth Serum, Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream, Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder, Etude House Moistfull Collagen Eye Cream

Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream

I mentioned the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream in my Sephora VIB Sale video on YouTube, but recently I re-started using my prescription Retin A and with that, as anyone who uses retinol knows, your skin gets a little flaky for awhile. My skin also has yet to return to its full oily glory post-pregnancy. I may be on the combination/dry side of the world!

I’ve used two tubs of the Tatcha Water Cream, which is a stunningly beautiful formula for normal to oily skin, but I needed something with a little more hydration… but I HATE feeling greasy/heavy. Knowing the Sephora sale was coming up, I picked up a sample of the Dewy Skin Cream to test it out.

First of all, Tatcha’s skin care smells heavenly. Like legitimate cherub angels. If you need a real description, Tatcha’s website says it’s an all natural fragrance derived from bamboo, green tea, fresh cucumber, and wild orchid.

Second, this formula contains ceramides and hylauronic acid to hydrate and plump – in addition to a ton of fancy K-beauty Asian-inspired ingredients that do magical things to my skin.

Third, my skin is calm and glowy and SO moisturized when using it. It works beautiful under makeup if you have normal to dry skin but I typically only use it at night. Ugh, SO happy with this formula and will definitely repurchase another tub in the future when I run out.

Etude House Moistfull Eye Cream

Another new mom find… this Etude House eye cream (under $20!). After weeks of interrupted sleep (or no sleep at all), I noticed my under eyes lacking volume.

Some people get older and get puffy under eyes. I’m the opposite. I find my under eyes look more sunken as I

A. Get older
B. Get less sleep
C. Don’t drink enough water.

So, the hunt began for an eye cream that would help alleviate this sunken darkness. I learned that I need a very hydrating, yet collagen-based eye cream. So many eye creams talk about ‘firming, and ‘tightening’ the eye area, but that actually makes sunken, dark eyes look worse. I need something to plump!

I also don’t want to spend $100 on an eye cream. Worth noting, there’s NO eye cream at Sephora with 5 stars. None. Because the limit does not exist.

I stumbled upon K-Beauty brand, Etude House, and their collagen based Moistfull eye cream got rave reviews everywhere I looked. So I ordered it from iHerb and have been beyond impressed.

Every night, I apply a generous (GENEROUS) amount to my eye area and let it sink in. It doesn’t irritate or break out my skin and I seriously feel like my eye area looks much healthier/happier.

Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder

I picked this Hourglass powder up during the Sephora spring sale as well. As an avid user of Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder, I was starting to feel that it was a tad bit drying under the eye (which is where I mainly use it). Since I’ve been having a HUGE Hourglass Cosmetics moment, and heard nothing but praise about this powder, the sale was the perfect time to pick it up.

It does all the wonderful things Laura Mercier’s powder does – especially setting under the eye – but with a more refined, soft texture that is MUCH more forgiving on normal/drier or more mature skin.

Rodan and Fields Lash Boost

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I am not a big fan of MLM  companies and you won’t find me reviewing them/selling them on my blog, but I caved and tried Lash Boost because I love the look of lash extensions but don’t love the price tag.

I’m SOLD on this product! My lashes look so fluttery and thick and they curl SO much (none of that straight snuffleupagus lash).

Learning curve – use a very very thin amount JUST along the lash line. Too much can seep into your eye and cause irritation for some people. Also, it took me a full 8-9 weeks to start seeing true results.

I’m about to order my 2nd tube and I get mine from my sweet friend, Katie, who you can contact here.

Beautycounter Blush, Nectar

Another product sold through a consultant (I know I know, sorry!!!), this AMAZING Beautycounter blush. I honestly was (and still am) a little confused about Beautycounter. Wasn’t it sold at Target for like 5 minutes, also!? I don’t know.

Anyway, the brand is all about clean beauty that doesn’t have any bad stuff in their products. They carry everything from skincare to beauty, baby and man stuff.

After watching a YouTube video from Annie Jaffrey (who is gorgeous), she mentioned loving this blush for a healthy glow and I needed it ASAP. She’s totally right. Nectar literally gives you the healthiest, peachy pink glow. It’s what I wish NARS Orgasm could be on me. It’s NARS Orgasm with a lot more pigment for those of us with medium-tan skin. Going to be my staple summer blush for sure.

If you want to try Beautycounter products and need to shop through a consultant, my girl is Veronica Cowen when you search for a consultant. She’s great!! Always gives amazing recommendations.

Ok, that wraps up my Loving Lately/May 2019 beauty favorites! Hope you enjoyed and maybe decide to try one of them, too. Let me know what you’ve been enjoying in the comments below.

Happy Spring!
