Walk into your local Target these days and if you’re lucky, you have one of those newly re-designed stores that have a huge cosmetics department and expanded (plus FULLY STOCKED) Pixi by Petra/Pixi Beauty section. I’ve always been a fan of their skin care line, but lately, even their cosmetics has taken a large leap in the right direction and I’ve been quite happy with a few of their recent launches. Today’s post is all about a few new products to try from Pixi by Petra next time you’re wandering around Target…
If you didn’t know, Petra is the founder of Pixi and she’s a mom/businesswoman who believes makeup should be fast and fun while making you feel good about the ingredients you’re putting on your skin.
Some of their cult favorites include the Glow Tonic (exfoliating toner), their facial mists (LOVE the Hydrating Milky Mist), and serums.
A multi-functional face and eye palette in collaboration with YouTube mega-star, Dulce Candy, this palette contains nine universally flattering shimmer shades perfect for giving you a cohesive look while maximizing the glow factor.
The top row contains perfect highlight/brightening shades, middle row has rosy warm pink blush shades, and the bottom row has sun-kissed bronze hues.
The pigmentation on this palette is notably better than previous face palettes I’ve tried from Pixi and I love the compilation of shades to suit a multitude of skin tones.
For my medium/olive skin, my favorite shades include Dulce, Caramelo, Piruli, and Tamarindo. I like using this palette as one-eyeshadow looks with a glowing complexion for quick makeup days. Find it here.
This collaboration with YouTube vlogger, Weylie Hoang, contains a six-shadow warm-toned eyeshadow palette that screams Urban Decay Naked Heat dupe! It includes three shimmer shades and three matte shades in the perfect tones.
The shimmer shades are champagne/taupe tones perfect for the lid, with a deep bronze for smokier looks. The mattes are midtone warm browns for the crease and outer corner.
These blend very smoothly and is a perfect palette for those looking for that Urban Decay look, at a slightly more affordable price.
Pixi + Weylie also included a convenient double-sided black eyeliner – one end is a felt tip, matte black eyeliner and the other is a black Kohl pencil. I’m obsessed with the felt-tipped eyeliner! It’s incredibly black and although not waterproof, certainly holds up like a champ in these summer months. The kohl liner isn’t my favorite because I find it does smudge a bit (as any Kohl liner does), but it’s convenient in a pinch.
Get it from Target here.
I’ve tried a few shades of the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pens (waterproof wood pencils) over the years, and they’re not all created equal.
Recently, some new shades came out that I’ve been LOVING.
The shade Matte Mulberry (a deepened brown plum) is perfect for subtle definition and I used it in this look.
My second favorite and one I think everyone will really love is Rose Glow (a mid-tone taupe rose gold). This shade can be used totally on its own and smudged out for an easy summer look on any eye color.
Lastly, Pixi released these Eye Define Waterline pencils which are waterproof, retractable and slim. The Eye Bright Liner in Nude has become my new favorite brightening waterline shade and knocked my Rimmel London Scandaleyes out of the water. This one seems to stay put and look more natural on days your inner waterline looks red from lack of sleep or allergies (or both?).
I hope this roundup helps you spy some new products to add to your cart next time you’re at Target or browsing online on Target.com or PixiBeauty.com.
