A Bunch of New Beauty Items…

*Affiliate links and PR samples used/included. Full disclaimer here.
Last week, I realized I had collected quite a bunch of new beauty items in my rotation of makeup, hair care and skin care that I hadn’t shared with my readers. I felt sort of guilty for not reporting. So this post will be brief, but just in case you were curious as to what I’m “trying out/auditioning” lately, let’s get to it!

New Beauty Items | Missoni Eau de Toilette, Kevyn Aucoin Eyelash Curler, Eve Lom Cleanser, Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow, Clinique City Block Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask + Scrub

Kevyn Aucoin Eyelash Curler*, $21

People grossly underestimate the need for a good eyelash curler. Using a good one makes you look more awake, makes your eyes look bigger and you probably will need less makeup! I, myself, didn’t realize the power of using a good one until last Nov. when I splurged on the Shiseido one during the Sephora VIB sale. But this Kevyn Aucoin Eyelash Curler is better. As great as the Shiseido one is, it pinches my outer corner lashes every single time and is kind of annoying. The Kevyn Aucoin one does not. Sometimes you have to just keep trying ’til you find the one that fits your eye shape (yes, there are slight nuances to lash curlers that you may not notice).

Missoni Eau de Toilette*, $94

A citrus, floral and woody fragrance, the Missoni Eau de Toilette smells very clean and light. It reminds me a LOT of Dove Original body wash made into a perfume. I’ve gotten a few compliments wearing this scent so far! Great for every day.

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow*, $33

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow recently reformulated and now they’re even more lightweight with no noticeable fallout (no one likes glitter on their nose or cheeks. or do they?). “Sophisticated” glitter is SUPER *in* right now and this gorgeous neutral beige sparkle is the perfect topper to any eyeshadow look (or wear on its own for just a flirtation of glam). It can be sheer or potent, but I have liked applying this with my fingertip for the most concentrated application.

You can also pop these shadows out of their compacts and insert into a custom palette.

Eve Lom Cleanser*, $50+

Vogue called this “probably the best cleanser in the world.” Well, I am not totally sure of those claims, but it’s pretty damn luxurious. The Eve Lom Cleanser is applied to a dry face and worked into the skin to break down all makeup and grime. It comes with a sheer, soft muslin cloth which is used to rinse away the balm and impurities once dampened. It also serves to gently exfoliate. Additionally, the formula is supposed to decongest pores and improve your complexion over time. Suitable for all skin types.

I’ve used this about three times so far, and it’s glorious. Not at all waxy (like you would think a balm is), this is more like a thick, balm-cream(?). But it does break down into an oil to help remove all that yucky makeup. It’s very nice and something I think would make a beautiful holiday gift for yourself or a loved one (a little goes a very long way).

Clinique City Block Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask + Scrub*, $28

Safe to use on all skin types, but I say this mask is a must for normal to combination/oily skin. I LOVE how quick this works at soaking up excess oil, and improving overall dullness – you only need to leave it on for five minutes before rinsing! The gray clay is soft, easy to spread on the skin and the tiniest exfoliating silica particles don’t irritate my sensitive skin, yet get the job done because my face feels like a baby’s butt after use.

New Beauty Items | Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti Aging Mask Boost, Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 Non Phenol, Amika Style Extending Spray, Amika Dry Conditioner

Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti Aging Mask Boost, $66

A multi-action mask, I like the Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Mask Boost because it’s calming and hydrating to my skin. I got this mask after my GlamGlow ThirstyMud ran out and it’s a good substitute (and slightly more affordable). You can leave it on for about ten minutes, then tissue or rinse off (or do like me and leave it on overnight like a night cream).

Biologique Recherche Lotion P50, $62

Hello, everyone. My name is Steffanie and I’m a chemical exfoliation addict. It started months ago with my Paula’s Choice regimen that introduced me to the proper BHA exfoliant for my congested, acne-prone skin. Once I saw the miracles that resulted from using chemical exfoliants, I had to go to the Momma of Chemical Exfoliants – Lotion P50. It’s a cult favorite, difficult to get anywhere and esssspennnssivveeee. But I only use it in the evenings about 3-5x/week. Keeps my skin totally clear; those under the skin breakouts haven’t made an appearance in MONTHs and I never want to be without it.

I get mine from Rescue Spa in Philadelphia (online). They’ll make you do an online consult to determine which formula is best for you before you’re permitted to order. They make the nonphenol version for those with extra sensitive skin or women TTC/currently pregnant. The phenol version is only available/legal in the US and I’ve used both so far. I kinda like the phenol version better, but the smell is potent. TBD which version ends up in a favorites.

amika, Style Extending Spray*, $10-24

I’m partnering with amika later this week for an exciting post and the reason I’m partnering with them is because I fell in love with their unDone texturizing spray and needed to share this brand with my readers. I’ve been playing with a few new goodies from amika and the Style Extending Spray is an aerosol heat protectant that makes my hair shiny without feeling greasy and holds my curl for THREE days (it also keeps my straightened hair nice and sleek through humidity, too). Plus, the scent is incredible (ALL amika stuff smells heavenly).

amika, Dry Conditioner*, $10-24

Another product I’ll be talking more about later this week, this dry conditioner is awesome! “Dry CONDITIONER,” you say? Yes. Yes, people. You know how when you use dry shampoo, your hair starts to feel, well, dry? Mist a little of this pathenol-rich, lightweight dry conditioner from mid-shaft to ends of your hair and it’s going to feel freshly conditioned and bouncy again (even if it’s day three hair. trust me. I’ve tried it).

New In Beauty | Giorgio Armani Si Intense Perfume
Giorgio Armani Si INTENSE Eau de Parfum*, $75+

I got Si INTENSE complimentary for testing purposes thanks to Influenster (free to sign up!) and it’s a gorgeous, fall/winter or evening fragrance. Si INTENSE has black currant nectar, white freesia, and vanilla notes which remind me of a few of my current and past favorites – Narsciso Rodriguez For Her, Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb (my signature scent/wedding day perfume), Lancome La Vie Est Belle. If you’re a fan of those warm, cozy fragrances, give this one a try!

I hope this glossover in my new beauty items was fun to read and you learned about a new product. Of course, I’ll be sure to keep you all posted either here or on SnapChat if I have any breaking news about these newbies.
