There’s a few lovely ladies on YouTube and Instagram that I have loved following and taking beauty tips from. Recently, we decided to send each other a little goodie box of makeup products for the other to try out and put together an (almost) full face. It was super fun and I got to try a whole box of NEW brands and items – mostly drugstore-priced – I’ve never used before. If you love unboxings and affordable makeup, you definitely need to check out this Makeup Swap unboxing and tutorial!
A little background on makeup swaps…
This was a huge thing back in the early days of beauty YouTube.
Before huge PR unboxings and nonstop new product launch reviews, creators and beauty lovers would get together and exchange boxes of new (or very lightly used) makeup to the other to just have fun!
Nowadays, it’s so much more of a business than fun… but I think with the climate of the beauty community lately (if you’re unaware of the drama… good for you… best to stay that way because it’s just nonsense), it was fun to just do something a little ‘old school’ and innocent.
I was so excited to get randomly matched with Lauren, from Little Blushing Birdie!
We have both been beauty blogging for about the same amount of time, and I rarely disagree with her reviews on products.
Lauren and I have similar preferences to makeup colors and products – although she’s definitely a bit more daring with eye makeup than I am – so it was cool to get to play with some of the items she thought I’d love.
If you haven’t already, you need to give her blog a peek and follow her on Instagram and YouTube! Her unboxing swap video is here.
I have been OBSESSED with the liquid lip, mascara (may have already purchased the full size, oops) and brow pencil Lauren sent me! They’ve been used daily since I filmed this video. Definitely recommend those products.
If you didn’t watch this video on YouTube, you have to check out the other beauties who participated in this collab.
I sent my box to Kim Nuzzolo, and you can catch her video here. You will probably be able to tell that it was a box of makeup picked out by me [ #neutralsforlife ].
The other ladies’ videos are by Katie, From My Vanity and Maria, Agape Love Girl.
Hope you guys enjoyed this collab and let me know if you’d like to see more like this.
