Favorite Busy Mom Makeup Over 35

Hi! ICYMI, I had a second baby in June and so my life got a little busier (and I’m only getting older)! With those two things in mind, my former everyday glam has certainly changed. Think… lighter complexion products, more high performing (and better coverage) concealer/under eye products, glowy skin to combat the tiredness and the quickest eye makeup you can find… plus some items to combat the fact that I probably could use a little lip filler but I’m currently breastfeeding and can’t/don’t want to pay for it right now 😉 Here’s what my must reached for, favorite busy mom makeup for those of us over the age of 35…

Just like the makeup, the blog posts lately have to be quick and to the point… so without a long soliloquy about the chaos that is a baby and a preschooler… here’s the goods:

And oldie but goodie for me… I know now all the TikTok babies are raving about it… but you can’t go wrong with slapping on a tinted moisturizer with SPF that actually has some coverage but is easy enough to use your hands, amirite?

On those days, we grab the Colorescience Flex SPF 50 in medium.

If my skin is having a particularly *GOOD* day, I sometimes can get away with spot concealing with the Merit Beauty complexion stick. Honestly, my skin has been better lately due to using a new skincare line, so I am frequently picking this up.

If I’m needing more full coverage for an event or something special, I will grab the L’Oreal True Match foundation. Love this and it looks so similar to my Armani Luminous Silk for like a quarter of the price.

For eyes, if I’m doing a shadow at all, it’s the RMS Beauty Eye Lights. They’re super budge proof and I use my finger.

Usually though, I have been grabbing a brown eyeliner and smudging it out sloppily in the outer corner with this Maybelline brown liner. Super budge proof and replaced my Makeup By Mario brown liner (which, anyone else notice that pulls super red after a minute?).

It’s 2024 and we are doing BROWN mascara too. It is so much softer and just easier to apply for every day. Love the Maybelline Sky High for drugstore or the Too Faced Better than Sex in brown. TF gives more of a fluffy look, Maybelline more length.

For concealer, I’ve been back and forth and trialing out SO many because I have hereditary dark circles and with a baby, sleep is hit or miss.

The biggest bang for my buck has been the ELF Hydrating Camo concealer. It’s not super hydrating but it’s not super matte either and it’s an amazing price point. For a more hydrating finish and still incredible coverage, I just went back to the oldie-but-goodie Too Faced Born This Way concealer. Hate the bulky packaging, but this one photographs like a dream!

For cheeks, it’s creams all the way for on the go. The DIBS sticks are incomparable. They’re the most convenient, best colors, two-in-one (blush and bronzer), blend seamlessly. I currently own two of them and finished one!

Runner up when I’m rocking more of a no-makeup look is more from Merit… the flush balm in Rouge and the bronzer stick in Seine are foolproof and more sheer than DIBS if you’re really pressed on time.

For lips… I’m seeing rapid volume loss with age lately and I likely see lip filler in my near future but for now, I find it’s vastly improved when I use a good glossy/balmy product while doing makeup. It hydrates and plumps and gives the illusion of a fuller pout. First, line wtih a lip liner that’s my-lips-but-pinker… I currently love the Beautycounter one in Pink Blossom because it’s heavy metal free and if I’m going to accidentally consume lip products… they better be clean! Summer Fridays in Vanilla Beige and Mint are incredible for every day and have these in my purse. Oliveda lip balm is at my bathroom counter… also great before bed (all orders from Oliveda ship free at $50… if you want to try my new fave skincare brand… learn more here).

And that’s it, babes.
