Best-of-the-Week: YouTube Beauty Videos

It rained ALL week here in Houston, which means in between drying my dogs off from going potty, I spent a lot of time catching up on cleaning the random things in the house – like top of the refrigerator, baseboard, etc. Really riveting here, folks. Of course, this included letting YouTube run its course and finding some of the best of the week for my blog readers!

I’m sharing a comparison video between the new Tarte Shape Tape (full coverage) Concealer vs. TooFaced Born This Way Concealer; an Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation wear-test; and MOST helpful, an Eyeliner Hacks video that is a certain must-watch.

I’ve been seeing MAJOR hype around this exclusive-to-Ulta Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. It’s supposed to be full coverage yet not cakey/drying. Zabrena does an excellent job of showing true-to-life wear with crisp video so we can really see how these two concealers perform. What do you think about her results? Have you tried either of these concealers yet? I have not!

Thrift Thick is a quirky and cute YouTuber who does a lot of these ‘test it’ videos. As a die-hard Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation fan (it will always have a special place in my heart because it was my wedding day foundation), I was curious about seeing how this performed on a ‘random stranger.’ If you are combo/oily, like medium-full coverage and have a hard time with foundation staying on your face and not breaking down… you NEED this foundation in your life. If you’re more normal skin and like light-medium/buildable foundation, try Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Light formula.

Eyeliner is often the bane of our makeup-existence. Even pros must harness their Jedi powers when applying eyeliner. The tricks Sylvia Gani shares were even enlightening to a makeup junkie like ME, so I hope you learn a trick or two. Let me know which was your favorite hack in the comments!
