Best Setting Powder for Dry Under Eyes …and she’s drugstore!

The eye area has been the bane of my existence over the last two (maybe three?) years now as I am getting older. Not only do I struggle with hereditary darkness, but it seems like no powder really sets my concealer in place without making me look 15 years older… yet I *need* to set my concealer or it will crease, so what’s a girl to do!? I went on the hunt and I promise you I’ve tried everything from Givenchy to e.l.f.. I’ve finally found it and you’re never going to believe it. Ready to find out the best setting powder for dry under eyes ?

Best Setting Powder for Dry Under Eyes ...and she's drugstore

I’m always hunting for a great, full coverage but natural looking concealer for my dark circles… but just as important, is a good, flattering setting powder for my dry under eyes.

My skin isn’t super dry, but for some reason, with age, my under eyes tend to be and it’s a terrible beauty conundrum!

Let’s go through the list of powders that I’ve tried in the last couple of years:

  1. Ilia loose powder
  2. Beautycounter loose powder
  3. Chantecaille pressed powder
  4. Charlotte Tilbury pressed powder* (this one reigned supreme for the longest, until recently things just aren’t working)
  5. Givenchy Prism Libre loose powder (she’s PRICEY)
  6. Huda Easy Bake pressed powder
  7. Laura Mercier translucent blur powder (the new formula, talc free)
  8. ELF HD loose powder
  9. ELF Halo Glow loose powder

…and honestly, probably more I can’t even keep track of anymore because I’m exhausted.

So let’s just get to it, right? We don’t need this to be like a recipe blog post where people tell their life story before you find out the recipe.

It’s the ELF HALO GLOW loose powder. I’m SHOCKED. It was actually the latest one I tried and I wasn’t very hopeful.

Why does the ELF HALO GLOW win?

  • She doesn’t emphasize texture
  • She does not dry out the concealer, making it look patchy/cracky
  • She doesn’t catch onto little dry patches
  • She’s talc free
  • She’s affordable! Under $10!

Let’s watch a little demo, shall we?

@brighterdarling Yes I have the Givenchy and i still think this $7 one is superior. Just give it a try and see! 🫶🏼 #givenchybeauty #elfhaloglow #elfcosmetics #settingpowder #drugstoremakeup #over35moms ♬ original sound – brighterdarling | steffanie

Are you maybe a bit oily or prefer a total matte finish… my super close runner up is the ELF HD powder. I use both interchangeably but I would for sure reach for the ELF HALO GLOW if you are dryer or more mature.

So yea… that’s it. Quick blog post today but important, I think.

xx,

Steff
