It’s that time of the month when beauty bloggers and vloggers everywhere are sharing their monthly beauty favorites. By now, many of my readers know I only do these when I truly have around five products I have been loving. Considering I bought like a million new beauty products recently, it was about time I curated some favorites to share.
Purchased in the hunt to replace my former Holy Grail Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation (the pump and I have had some explosive (quite literally) arguments), I love the medium-full coverage of this foundation and it’s long wear ability, yet still soft/natural finish. Check out my ‘Foundation Final Four’ battle post for more details.
Unfortunately, this shade is no longer available because it was created in collaboration with a local Los Angeles animal shelter where all proceeds went to help the pups (naturally, a cause I couldn’t say no to). This finish is a bit different from the more sparkly ColourPop shadows I have. It’s sort of like a satin/shimmer light warm gold with pink iridescence… if that makes sense. So flattering on my skin tone and a great slap-on-and-go shade that lasts all day with no creasing or fading. You really need to check out ColourPop if you haven’t already. Everything’s under $10 (shadows, lippies, brow products, blushes, highlighters…).
I’m not going to say much about this lip product (because I have a more thorough review coming soon) other than I’m absolutely OBSESSED with this formula. This new Ultra Satin formula is bomb. I want all the colors. I was wearing this particular shade in my beach hair tutorial here.
After years of brow pencils, I finally went back to the O.G. brow powder from Anastasia. I’m absolutely IN LOVE with the softer finish it gives my brows and it really matches my hair way better in the Taupe shade. I also feel like it enhances my brows a lot easier when using an angled brush than brow pencils do. Anastasia truly makes the best brow products when it comes to nailing down proper brow hair shades (not too warm).
I recently chopped off about 3-4″ off my hair and removed a TON of bulk via a long layer razor cut and it’s f-cking glorious! It’s giving me that super trendy shaggy beachy look that looks so effortlessly chic. I always wondered what sort of product gives that perfectly piecey textured look to the ends of the hair and I’ve finally figured it out with this product (Ulta has it for $22, but drugstore.com and Walgreens.com say $24)! Joy! It’s not just for short hair, either (my hair still hits mid-back). I just use about a penny-sized amount to the ends of my hair and through my side-swept bang area for definition, a little hold and I’m good to go! Add in some texturizing spray to your roots and girlfriend…. you’re looking fabulous. It doesn’t dry sticky and is easily buildable. I am so happy I have this new haircut and picked up this product. Such an amazing finishing product to use for straight or wavy/curled hair!
That wraps up my April beauty favorites for 2016. What have you picked up and been loving recently? Let me know in the comments below and be sure you are following me on social media for more beauty loves, tips and trends!
