I just returned from spending a few days back home in New Jersey where they experienced abnormally chilly temps a bit earlier than usual for this time of the year (like it was 26 degrees one morning). Typically, when I travel by plane, my skin will be crazy dehydrated. Add to that, being in cold weather and you basically can assume I will be both dry/flaky and breaking out at the same time. Awesome. However; that did not happen this time and I have to credit this anomaly to a new product I subbed in this season, Air Repair’s Complexion Boosting Moisturizer. Let’s get into my Air Repair Complexion Boosting Moisturizer Review…
It isn’t just a great cold weather face lotion – it’s been working overtime even in the warmer Houston climate – but this trip proved its place in my skincare arsenal. If you are looking for a new extra bit of hydration this season, keep on reading to find out why this is a new essential in my regimen…
Crazy enough, I discovered this product due to my previous subscription to Birchbox. I was pretty hesitant to test out the Complexion Boosting Moisturizer sample because I’m always hesitant to try anything new that’s skincare-related. Although the ingredients were super promising and seemed non-irritating, I just never know how my face will react. The product also has a very pretty scent – light and fresh. In theory this sounds quite lovely, but usually scent = breakouts for me. I begrudgingly used the Birchbox sample as my night cream over a three-day period and was completely hooked.
It was incredible how my skin appeared when I woke up. My face was less red than usual and I loved that the effects of the moisturizer seemed to linger even after I washed my face. My skin was totally soft, smooth, pores seemed smaller, angels sang… but the best word to describe it: calmed.
I immediately ordered the full size of the product – which was only one of two items I purchased full sizes of from Birchbox over a six month period (I’m picky).
Air Repair Complexion Boosting Moisturizer is amazing for travel. The entire Air Repair line was created with air travel in mind, so all of the items are especially amazing at treating dehydrated (not dry; there’s a difference) skin.
In a previous skincare routine post, I discussed that my typical regimen in the evenings included the CeraVe lotion. CeraVe is still a great option, but I am just finding that Air Repair’s Complexion Boosting Moisturizer is much more effective at deeply hydrating my skin. This would be a great alternative for those of you who find CeraVe too light, prefer a travel-friendly package or simply don’t like CeraVe.
You can purchase Air Repair Complexion Boosting Moisturizer ($20) at Target (online only) here, from Birchbox.com, or from Amazon. Learn more about the brand at AirRepairSkincare.com.
