Hi there! My name is Steffanie and I’ve had this beauty blog since 2015. It’s evolved a bit over the years, but since having my first daughter in 2018, I’ve shifted some things after battling infertility (8.5 years of IVF) and autoimmune disease (Hashimotos).
My goal is to help WOMEN 40+ NAVIGATE FINDING QUALITY SKINCARE AND ATTAINABLE MAKEUP LOOKS, ESPECIALLY THOSE STRUGGLING WITH SENSITIVE, ACNE PRONE SKIN.

My former career includes over a decade of success in marketing communications and public relations for non-profits to Fortune 100 companies. I have my Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship/Innovation Management and my Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.
I also dabbled for several years as a freelance makeup artist and member of Estee Lauder’s Pro Artistry Team in the Houston, NY and Philadelphia areas.
Prior to 2024, I had a longtime focus moreso on cleaner beauty. Flashback to 2014 when my husband and I started trying for our first baby (I was 28).
We struggled with unexplained infertility for over three years, and ultimately ended up conceiving my daughter via IVF in 2018.
After several more years of treatments, I was able to add to our crew with another IVF baby girl in 2023.
Prior to that, I had been diagnosed in 2009 with both Hashimoto’s and Grave’s disease – thyroid autoimmune diseases.
Both the infertility and autoimmune issues have no known hereditary origin… so for me, I feel my health issues are environmentally triggered. I am doing the best I can to help educate myself, my friends and family choose safer personal care as often as they can.
I no longer exclusively focus on cleaner beauty. Many of the laws in the US have changed now (for the better) and brand’s are all having to remove potentially questionable concentrations of ingredients in their products. Additionally, I’ve learned it’s often not very easy to find clean beauty that does not contain highly pore clogging ingredients. If I want to maintain and recommend sensitive skin-friendly, acne safe products, the clean products had to take a back seat.
