Now that I’m a few days shy of six months into this pregnancy, you can bet I’ve been bombarded with product recommendations from loving friends and family on items I absolutely NEED for #BrighterDarlingBaby ( name reveal coming soon! ). If you’re a mom-to-be and totally overwhelmed by the insane plethora of options for your upcoming addition, continue reading to narrow down the most recommended baby items to register for (2018) edit.
…or if you’re a mom pro and think I’m missing anything, definitely let me know…
Let’s just start with the fact that registering (or even just shopping on your own) for baby has been SO INCREDIBLY STRESSFUL as a first-time mom.
The options out there can truly make your head spin.
…And let’s not even mention how insane the prices are on most of these things! As a new mom, you have no idea what you’re really doing, and you automatically get sucked into the thought process that more expensive = safer, so you just want to splurge on 90% of the items.
Reason and logic tell me at least 50% of these pricier things, #BrighterDarlingBaby may not even care for, but we’ll do an updated post on that post-birth 😉
I remember registering and purchasing household stuff for my wedding and that was way more fun! No one was warning me that my China was potentially a choking hazard or that if I bought a certain blanket, it may not be worth it if I wanted to use it on a second mattress (LOL).
There were several days in a row I swear to you, I did not sleep at night and gave myself major stomach pains/issues OVER A STROLLER. This is what happens!
…mind you, I’m still struggling with the stroller decision, but coming to terms with my pick slowly but surely…
Anyways, let’s get to what has been most recommended to me. NOTE: There are some multiples in categories (strollers, car seats). You don’t need all of them, but these are just the most popular ones recommended.
fisher price auto rock n play (must be the AUTO version, otherwise you’re sitting there manually rocking)
4moms breeze plus portable playard
my brest friend nursing pillow
nanobebe bottles (NEW brand, released Feb. 2018; supposed to be excellent for breastfed babies)
Tubby Todd Bath Products (especially the all-purpose ointment)
nuna pipa lite infant car seat
maxi cosi mico 30 infant car seat
chicco keyfit 30 infant car seat
graco 4ever convertible car seat (for once they grow out of the infant car seat ~8-12 months old)
aden and anais burpy bibs (bib + burp cloth in one)
Side Snap Shirts (best for newborn/before cord falls off)
Zipper Onesies (easier for night changes when you’re half asleep)
aden and anais muslin swaddle blankets (can also be used as burp cloths, stroller blankets, etc)
Copper Pearl Baby Bandana Bibs (functional yet stylish)

I hope this helps narrow down the most popular items I’ve been told I need to get or try. We’ll see what I actually end up purchasing/receiving and I’ll certainly keep you all posted on what baby girl ends up loving.
What do you think of this list? Anything I’m missing?
