What else is new? It’s been a minute since my last post. Shocker. I hope you follow me in Instagram or TikTok, because I’m much more visible there. Anyway! Long overdue, but I finally compiled my faves from 2022. They’re nearly ALL clean beauty, so if that’s something you’re into also… let’s get into my 2022 clean beauty favorites!
Makeup By Mario Skin Enhancer Bronzer
Think of this product as a veil of tan for your face. It’s a balmy texture so it does have some glow/sheen to it (not shimmery, just dewy). However, even with my normal/oily skin, I enjoyed this so much I’m nearly done with the entire pan which RARELY happens since I own so much makeup. I loved using this on bare skin for a wash of sunshine/warmth, and it equally worked well on top of foundations. It melts into the skin so naturally, too. Would be great for more mature skin, too.
Haus Labs Foundation
It’s not often I truly fall in love with a foundation and want to wear it daily. But this CLEAN formula from Haus Labs is my ‘clean dupe’ for my beloved Armani Luminous Silk. This foundation just blurs over the skin, has a natural/luminous finish, doesn’t enhance texture/fine lines, and gives medium buildable (to full) coverage. It lasts very long, too. Great for events/special occasions. The shade range is also expansive! So… to me, this is hands down the best clean foundation on the market in terms of shade range and performance.
RMS Powder Blushes
These blushes are clean AND refillable AND talc free! Plus, the beautiful sheen and color they impart on the skin leaves you looking healthy (not shiny/metallic). I have two shades (French Rose and Mai Tai) and wore these nearly every single day in the summertime, especially. But they’re just fantastic.
SkinCeuticals Simply Clean
An effective cleanser goes a LONG way when you have sensitive, acne prone skin but wear makeup every day. I keep going back to this one because it does such an incredible job at removing makeup without overdrying my skin. When I don’t use this cleanser as my first cleanse (in double cleansing my face at night), I notice more congestion in my skin within days. It may not be the ‘cleanest’ on this list, but I prefer double cleansing with actual cleansers lately vs balms/oils to prevent any clogged pores and this one is a MUST in my routine. I’ve repurchased at least 5 times and continue to do so.
Tartelette Mascara
I’m a tubing mascara girl for life. All other styles of mascaras will smudge on me in some capacity and I just don’t have the time for it. Other faves include the Hourglass Unlocked mascara and Thrive Causemetics. Hourglass is more light and natural. Thrive is bolder and borderline a bit clumpier. Tartelette is the happy medium and one I’ve repurchased this year, so I know I love it.
RMS Cream Eyeshadow
Another gem from RMS this year! RMS really has been stepping up the game with their clean formulas in terms of performance and variety. When I first got into clean beauty in 2018, RMS was borderline a bit too crunchy and not high performing enough for this beauty lover. But now, they’re really offering improved formulas, shade ranges and just MORE products in general. These eyeshadows are BUDGE PROOF with high pigment. They remind me of a clean dupe for the MAC paints! Anyone else remember those?
Beautycounter Cream Blushes
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention at least one item from Beautycounter, but to be honest, BC didn’t come out with too much NEW stuff in 2022. These cream blushes are the formula I reach for the most now, and in 2022 (blog post published Jan. 2023). I love the shade options, refillable compact and the fact that even with my oilier skin, these stay put all day and don’t break me out or congest my pores. Fave shades include Havana, Cider, Paloma, Rosebud.
Lashify At Home Lash Extension System
Something a bit unique, and that I haven’t talked about much (but it’s worthy of more info!) is the Lashify at-home lash extension system. I purchased this in the summer of 2022 and since then, have ordered several different styles of lashes. I even bought at-home lash extensions from Amazon to compare quality… it’s no contest. The Lashify system is the BEST in terms of innovative formulas for bonds/glue and their super lightweight lashes and variety of styles are incomparable. Don’t fall for the cheaper options out there… they’re not as safe/healthy for your lashes and they just simply aren’t as good and long lasting.
Have you tried any of these items? What are your thoughts? If not… let me know which you think you’d want to try first in the comments!
